Keilepodium #6: Willemijn Wilms Floet & Koen van Bockstal
In the series ‘Just good living and working’, researchers Dr. ir. Willemijn Wilms Floet (assistant professor at TU-Delft, chair of Methods of Analysis & Imagination’) and Koen Van Bockstal (BULK architects, guest professor of Architecture and Environment University of Antwerp) are guests. With introduction of Ninke Happel (HCVA).
Koen Van Bockstal (BULK architects/ University of Antwerp) explains recent work on the basis of a number of spearheads and fascinations. BULK devises robust and future-proof housing ensembles that make an active contribution to the city and society. A clear structure challenges residents and leaves room for interpretation and excess. In their view, such precious buildings are a possible answer to acute and current issues.
Willemijn Wilms Floet (TU Delft) is an expert in the field of (historical) courtyards. In this lecture she explains living within the urban block as a contemporary design assignment and explores the starting points for the M4H area: the courtyard and courtyards as oases in the city in the perspective of the development of architecture and housing.
