Walking between monumental port buildings and innovative urban projects, you will stroll through the Merwe-Vierhavengebied, where industrial heritage, port activities, space for experiment, and modern urban development converge.

During this one-off excursion social geographer Glenn Zevenbergen will tell the stories behind iconic buildings such as the HAKA Building, the Citrusveiling, the Oranjelijn Departure Hall, and the Europoint Towers, and get a glimpse into the future of this rapidly changing district.

Be inspired by innovative places like Floating Farm, the Keilepand, and Brutus, where makers, artists, and sustainable entrepreneurs are building the Rotterdam of tomorrow. An in-depth walk full of history, architecture, and urban renewal on the border of city and port!

Visit HAKA Building and Citrusveiling

As an extra special part of this walk, we will visit two impressive national monuments: the iconic HAKA Building, designed in the 1930s as an integrated complex of offices, a warehouse, and a silo, and the unique Citrusveiling building.
