Experience a unique perspective of Jan Prinsschool, De Heuvel, and the Chamber of Commerce’s roofs in the heart of the city center. This  route will take you through various elements, including sports, music, and a drawing assignment.

On the route

• Starting at Gebouw De Heuvel (1959) on the Grotekerkplein, this public roof boasts solar panels, a roof garden with a seating area, and a pond with water plants that functions as a green filter. From here, you can enjoy a fantastic view and indulge in daydreaming about your ideal (roof) city.
• Next, you’ll explore the Jan Prinsschool, where a clever solution has been implemented to tackle the lack of space in Rotterdam’s city center. The schoolyard has been built on the roof, and the roof is currently undergoing conversion into a blue-green roof.
• Finally, a stroll on the roof of the Chamber of Commerce offers a stunning view of Blaak, the Center, and the surrounding Scheepvaartkwartier. Here, you’ll be greeted with a musical surprise.
